“A science masterpiece with superintelligent AIs replacing the human characters.”
What’s been called “a bold story of AI replacement,” with artificially intelligent androids on a voyage to distant planets, is now available to preorder on Amazon. The Gaia Paradox is the final book in the trilogy, Voyages of the Delphi, but, according to Kirkus Reviews, “it stands well on its own.” The Delphi is a starfaring spaceship crewed by group of superintelligent , peace-loving Solarians, the android race that replaced Earth’s humans back in the 21st century. Each of them is their race’s most learned and most talented member in their field of specialization. Two-hundred years later, they are traveling to Travoli, a distant planet to make peace with an imperialistic race whom they’ve encountered on a previous voyage. Ezekiel, the main character of the series, who is also an AI, is different from the other Solarian crewmembers, in being an emulation, an exact electronic copy of the brain of his creator, neuroscience Professor, Dr. Ezekiel Job, back in the 21st century. Despite his highly intelligent and super-efficient electronic brain, he possesses all the instincts and emotions of his human creator. Also on board is Siaree, a human empath from the planet, Numidia, and for whom Ezekiel feels a not very well disguised romantic affection.
The Delphi’s mission is diverted when the Travolians ask them to rescue three of their ships who are marooned on a giant asteroid, which they stopped to explore, and have contracted a deadly disease that turns them into vicious cannibals who are killing each other. When they arrive, the Delphi crew finds that the asteroid is a hollowed out generation ship whose human inhabitants have died from the same mysterious disease, leaving an intact mini world inside the asteroid. Three of the Travolians are somewhere inside that world, afflicted with the disease and hunting each other down. The Solarians’ mission is to rescue them.
The Gaia Paradox is not just a futuristic space adventure, it is an exploration of the future of AI development, of the relationship between humans and AIs, and is filled with hard science concepts in space travel, ecology, medicine and artificial intelligence. Kirkus Reviews says of it, “The prose is lucid and flows well, both in action sequences and in interpersonal scenes, and it always keeps the scientific aspects of the story clear.”
The eBook edition of The Gaia Paradox is available for preorder on Amazon right now. After the official publication date of July 7, 2026, it will be available in paperback and hardbound editions as well. For fans of space adventure, hard science fiction, and explorations into the world of AI, this is a must read book. Find it on Amazon.
The Gaia Paradox is a stand-alone novel, but it’s also the final novel in a 3-book series. Read the two other Voyages of the Delphi novels: Ezekiel’s Brain and Prime Directive. Available on Amazon.Click Here!
